If you care about write speed definitely look for a sd card with "A2" and "V30". I think just about any reputable SD card will max out the read speeds on the Steam Deck. I wanted to link the video and can't find it, but they compared Sandisk Ultra, Sandisk Extreme, pny elite, lexar gaming, and samsung evo. All cards had the same read speeds.

On the Steam Deck, if you're loading from the internal NVMe or from a external caddy over USB-C, it's exactly the same speed. This indicates that at NVMe speeds the limiting factor is the actual CPU and RAM and not the storage medium itself. This is further proven by the fact that on my PC the game loads almost twice as fast from the same USB-C
Found this video yesterday, which suggests that pretty much all grades of card cap out at 90MB/s read speed due to the SD reader on the Deck.. Write speeds, however, do vary greatly, with a Sandisk Ultra U1 card (for example) averaging at 30MB/s, and the SanDisk Extreme U3 card reaching 77.5MB/s.
Was just hoping for confirmation either way. Everything I've read says this was the test to confirm yes or no. Bought it new off Amazon, sold and shipped by them as well. Haven't actually tried installing in the Steam Deck yet to install anything.
Even a less open-world game like needs 80GB of available storage. It will definitely be more suitable for smaller, indie-type games, or older games that needed less storage. So there is definitely a question mark as to whether the 64GB model will be viable for anyone other than very casual gamers. Or, as we said before, by streaming the game
Dont think so, but the 1tb cards are still a bit overpriced right now. Sandisk had their cards on sale a couple weeks ago. 100 for Ultra, 118 for extreme. Lowest I had seen so I jumped on the extreme. The same one that gets recommended each time this question is asked 200 billion times a day.
